Activities Coming Up!
All students and visiting scholars are welcome to come for supper at James & Ann’s home one Friday a month. The next dinners will be September 20, October 25, and November 22, 2024. Meet and get to know new people from all around the world while enjoying free supper from 6:30-9:00 PM! Enjoy games, optional Bible discussion, and much more at our event! If you want to travel with other students from the university, meet on the ground floor of the University HUB Mall LRT station at 5:30 PM and look for one of our student leaders holding an International Friendship Group sign. Monthly Supper with a Canadian Family (This is not one of our IFG programs)
Families from a local church, Supper Club, are welcoming international students for supper once a month (about 4-6 students per family). If you would more information about being matched up with a Canadian family for a monthly supper, please contact Tony Tira at tonytira@yegsupperclub.ca
Welcome to DISCOVER! Every Wednesday in Rutherford Lounge in HUB Mall starting September 11, 2024 from 6:30-8:30 PM. We’ll eat some food and then have a discussion related to Jesus and the Bible. Any students or scholars are welcome. We enjoy healthy dialogue; we will not pressure anyone to change beliefs.
La Glace Farm Trip September 27-29, 2024. Travel with us for a weekend, by bus for 5 hours to the rural community of La Glace, AB. Stay with a Canadian family (at least 2 students per home). Make friends. Practice English. Have fun! Visit a bison ranch and a grain farm. Visit a grain elevator and a museum. Ride a death swing. Enjoy rural hospitality. Visit a church gathering. Mark West 2024 During Reading Week, Feb. 14-19, 2025
- Study the book of Mark for 5 days
- At Circle Square Ranch near Halkirk, AB
- Some fun activities like gun shooting, archery tag, riding horses, etc.

Conversational English
We are thinking of starting a Conversational English program. Please contact Ann at asiebert@ivcf.ca if you are interested.
Here are some opportunities at local churches to practice conversational English. These are not our IFG programs. There are 2 online classes and 4 in-person classes. The website is https://eslconversationcafe.ca/
Are you curious about the Bible?
Some students are curious about the Bible. If you are interested in attending a one hour Bible discussion at a time that works for you every week for four weeks, you can talk to James. It would be a no-pressure discussion for students who are new to the Bible.
